Choices, choices…

I don’t think I could do this with manga, so it’s anime for me.

Red: I would have to say something like Sk8 or Akudama Drive. Normally it’s works overflowing with passion that bring me back to the medium after a bit away (or maybe hyperfocussing on one series so much I can’t see outside my own bubble, like I am right now…), so I always have to thank them.

Blue: Rokuhoudou comes to mind first. Although it has its passionate moments, it’s mostly a very chill sort of anime.

Pink: Ore Monogatari, with its key visual covered in cherry blossoms and its core couple and main wingman all being sweet as pie, fits the bill.

Orange: Is it “warm and motivating” or “warm or motivating”? I guess I’ll go with the former and say YuruCamp. Although I wasn’t inspired to go camping, it never fails to inspire me into getting some food. (I can’t think of anything that fits the latter interpretation, really.)

Green: I guess this is no surprise, given the post I put out, but at the moment that would be Fairy Ranmaru. It’s got a lot of staff and character types that have been seen before in Boueibu and similar works, but also there’s a lot of unknowns, I think.

White: I wasn’t sure what to make of “random”. Is the anime meant to be random? Are the characters meant to act random? Is it meant to be partially a bunch of different genres, thus not really making it a colour at all (like Phoenix interpreted it)?

I think the anime that best represents “randomness” is…actually not a comedy, but something like Death Parade which deftly handles different moods without dropping the ball. Those are the sorts of anime that become masterpieces in my eyes.

Black:Is black a colour? It’s a shade, no? I wrote black last because I didn’t realise I’d missed it at first, but…thriller, huh? That would be something like Death Note, which I’ve only watched the first few episodes of but finished the manga and LNs (the LA one and the Change the World one) of and the series, once it gets going, it does not really stop that fast pace until the end, so it seems appropriate for what’s being asked for.

Sidebar: There’s what I would call “slow thrillers” like Promised Neverland, which emphasise the sense of foreboding and dread and generally cross over with horror or slice of life, and “fast thrillers” like Juuni Taisen and Death Note, which normally cross over with action. All thrillers exist on this continuum somewhere.
